And I’m sorry it is yours. But it’s only part of your story. Don’t ever let yourself think it is the sum of your story. There is much left for you to write. And the Riley that is living now is beautiful.”
Hurricanes in Paradise (Denise Hildreth Jones)
Don’t you love that quote? It is from a fiction book and the speaker is referring to some hard times that the character “Riley” is having. I love that we are reminded that what is happening now – good or bad – is part of your story. What has happened previously – good or bad – is part of your story. It isn’t the sum of the story. It isn’t the end. We always have a chance to continue the story, open a new chapter, edit, or simply start a new book. But, we have to want to and make that commitment to change, adjust, start anew – no one else can do it for us. And, no one ever said it is easy…but oh what an amazing story we can all have.
